BOHO GLAM WINTER WEDDING AT THE HORTICULTURE CENTERin philadelphia
With winter wedding season upon us, the timing is finally right for us to share Ken & Vanessa’s gorgeous Valentine’s Day weekend wedding at the Horticulture Center in Philadelphia.
I first met Vanessa around this time last year, and was pleased to find that she had surrounded herself with such wonderful wedding vendors. She and Ken had selected the Horticultural Center in Philadelphia for their special day and were well on their way to a beautiful wedding when they asked me to step in and assist with bringing their vision to life.
Vanessa and I clicked right away during our initial planning meeting, where we declared her wedding style to be “boho glam.” From there we sought to create a balance between the bohemian wedding details, like their botanical wedding invitation suite from Minted and the glam wedding elements- like Vanessa’s Nicole Miller gown from Lovely Bride and vintage crystal chandeliers from Eventions. Landing on the boho glam concept together allowed for us to round out the wedding team with the right pros for the job, and to introduce elements unique to them as a couple.
I’m still totally obsessed with so many details from this wedding! To keep the reception space hidden from guests during cocktail hour, we worked with Margaux from Fluer De Lis who hand crafted a 60 foot long and 10 foot high “wall” of ribbons! Once inside the main greenhouse, Ken and Vanessa’s chairs were adorned with ribbon and we worked with Eventions to create a beautiful backdrop of stacked market lights on the lattice wall behind their seats.
As a final touch of love, guests were invited to enjoy a hot chocolate to-go from Starr Events during their ride back to the hotels. We filled Maggpie’s Asher Cabinet with the hot chocolate urns, mini bottles of Bailey’s Irish cream, custom coffee cups and delicious toppings like chocolate shavings, whipped cream and peppermint. Leftover wedding cake was bagged and placed on this station, too. And, just when we thought this wedding couldn’t get any better, Mother Nature gifted these two beauties with the most dreamy snowfall you’ve ever seen.
Big thanks again to Peter Van Beever for sharing your work with us here on the blog. Stay tuned for this wedding to be featured on Brides.com this coming Valentine’s Day! This was one of those very special weddings where every detail sang, and we were so honored to be a part of it. Big thanks again to Mr. & Mrs. Allen- it was such a lovely walk down memory lane reliving your boho glam wedding day just now! We will always be thinking of you on Valentine’s Day! XO
