An Intimate Micro Wedding at The River House at Odette’s

One of the things we wedding planners pride ourselves on is being quick on our toes. Things rarely go exactly to plan on a wedding day and it’s our job to make sure you never even notice! Which is why we always have a plan B (and sometimes a Plan C and a plan D!)  But 2020 threw something at us that even the most amazing wedding planner couldn’t have foreseen, yep you guessed it - a pandemic.

Jordyn and Sam had been planning a fabulous November wedding for 225 at the Ritz Carlton when Covid hit, and as soon as we realized a large-scale gathering wasn’t going to be feasible, we knew it was time to pivot. It was a stressful time but Jordyn and Sam were able to quickly decide what was most important to them. They knew that while a big party could wait, the most important thing to them was to be able to become husband and wife. So we got to planning an intimate micro wedding where they could do just that!

The toughest part of reimagining this day was finding a place where the couple’s close family could get together safely. Enter the River House at Odette’s! Aside from being absolutely gorgeous, all of the windows on the river side of the ballroom can be fully retracted which enabled us to create an open air space where guests could gather safely and in observance of the state’s guidelines. 

Once the venue was settled the rest was easy, making it gorgeous! Having a smaller guest count meant we could really go nuts on the details. Our friends at Petals Lane and The Papery made this event absolutely stunning. To top it off we had an absolutely perfect autumn day. Blue sky, low humidity, it was *chefs kiss* as the kids say!

At the end of the day, while we are very much looking forward to helping Jordyn and Sam party with their entire guest list this coming November, their 2020 micro wedding was a beautiful bright spot in the midst of a not so lovely year.
