A Tented Seaside Wedding at Beach Club of Cape May
When your fiancé gets down on one knee on your favorite beach, amid the 4th of July fireworks display, you pretty much have to get married “down the shore” as we Philadelphians like to say. Megan grew up visiting Cape May with her family every summer. Once she met Jimmy while they were both at Loyola University, these yearly trips became a part of their tradition as well. After Jimmy’s spectacular 4h of July proposal the two knew they’d be married in that very spot the following summer.
On the day of the wedding we woke to beautiful weather with blue skies as far as the eye can see, perfect for the serene design of the day, inspired by blue hydrangeas that bloom in June and the color of the ocean. Meghan and her girls got ready with glam by Aleksandra Ambrozy before heading to Our Lady star of the Sea, Meghan’s family church, where our lovebirds exchanged vows in a traditional catholic ceremony. Once the knot was tied our couple hopped into a restored 1960 Mercedes-Benz convertible and headed over to the Beach Club of Cape May, a private club Meghan’s grandmother was a founding member of. Aside from being stunning, the location was a perfect choice for Meghan to feel her grandparents were close by even though they’re no longer with us.
While the bridal party and family snapped some photos with Alison Conklin, guests enjoyed cocktail hour around the pool before we all headed through the dunes to an oceanside sailcloth tent decorated with luscious floral arrangements by Petals Lane. There we danced and dined the night away and capped off the event with the perfect bride and groom send off, fireworks of course!
