Merry Gritmas! Philadelphia Flyers Mascot Gritty Crashes a wedding at Manufacturers’ Golf & Country Club
Not a creature was stirring... except Philly’s favorite crazy-eyed mascot?! That’s right, ladies and gents. Philadelphia Flyers mascot Gritty crashed one of our weddings and it was EPIC!
But let’s start at the beginning…Caitlin and Sean’s love story started at the beach or, “down the shore” as we locals like to say. They met one summer when they happened to be staying next door to each other, and although the pair fell out of touch, they were reconnected by Kismet four years later! Caitlin stepped out of a cab in Philly just as Sean was walking down the very same street - talk about amazing timing!
After three years of dating, the pair got engaged in Rittenhouse Square and settled on a late December wedding date. In the spirit of Christmas, they decided, why not get a really great gift for all of their guests? Caitlin, who just happens to be the daughter of former Flyer, Jimmy Watson, knew just what to get. So we started cooking up a Christmas miracle!
Our day started with bridal glam for Caitlin and her entourage with Kelly from Face the Occasion and Jason Matthew Salon while the guys got ready at the Union League. After wedding prep, we made our way to Caitlin’s childhood parish, Saint Mary Magdalen in Media, where our couple said “I do” in a traditional Catholic ceremony. After getting our couple hitched it was time to party! At Manufacturers’ Golf & Country Club, florist Long Stems decked out the room with Christmas greenery, seasonal florals and dozens of candles. It was pure holiday elegance.
Just when Caitlin and Sean’s guests thought the day couldn’t get any better? Gritty arrived rocking his Santa suit! The crowd went wild as Gritty entertained them with his dance moves and took tons of pictures by the fireplace. It was truly a Christmas miracle for this room full of die hard Flyers fans!
